Presenting career

He joined Sky Sports in August 2000 and is considered one of their elite presenters. Ed regularly presents in the summer when Gillette Soccer Saturday is replaced with Sports Saturday. He also hosts the midweek Soccer Special, and he presented coverage of the UEFA Champions League and the World Cup draws.

At the beginning of 2011, Ed took on a role as one of the stand-in presenters of Sky Sports coverage of the FA Premier League following the dismissal of Andy Gray and Richard Keys over sexist comments made towards female linesman Sian Massey. He is now the permanent replacement for Keys on the Super Sunday and Ford Monday Night Football shows.[1]

Personal life

He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January 2009 and this took time away from his Sky Sports career.,[2] However he returned to Sky Sports News in July 2009.
